Lilith's Featured Herb: Lilacs

Keywords: Clairvoyance, Psychic Ability, Protection, Exorcism, Love, Relationships

Lilacs are a very familiar flower, both beautiful and pleasing to the senses. Lilacs are used among magickal practitioners for several purposes. This flower protects the home from any unwanted spirits or demons. Keeping stock of these potted flowers will keep those spirits at bay. Lilacs also bring peace and serenity to the home. You can also use lilac in love and relationship spells to keep the romance alive. My magickal tip for using lilac is to try placing it's pedals in your pillow cases or around your bed for a boost in the astral plane. This method will allow for lucid dreaming and also prophetic signs and messages through your sleep.

Frankincense & Myrrh

Keywords: Purification, Cleansing, Protection, Consecrating
Frankincense is a cleansing and purifying herb. I believe that every witch cupboard should be stocked with the resin. It is harvested from the tree sap of aged trees. Frankincense gives off that churchy smell. When used as an incense it clears out and purifies your surroundings as well as yourself. Frankincense oils can also be used to anoint the body and also candles when practicing candle magic. Try pairing it with myrrh when performing cleansing rituals. This will heighten purification properties and also provide protection.

Featured Herb: Devil's Shoestrings

Keywords: Protection, Gossip, Luck

Devil's Shoestrings (Nolina lindheimeriana) is quite a useful herb to keep in your stash of goodies. This herb is shrub like and is harvested in the warmer months. It shouldn't be consumed as it can be poisonous to the body and also should not be used as an incense as fumes can be toxic.

Now, onto the important stuff (jk, IT'S POISONOUS GUYS, avoid consumption). Devil's Shoestrings is a protection and luck herb. You can throw it in protection sachets or use the powdered form for protection powders. This herb also is great for job and employment advancements. When going on job interviews or when requesting a raise, keep a branch in your pocket, maybe dressed with dragon's blood to spruce it up to your desire. Also known as a "Shut Up" herb. It can be used to end gossip and slanderous talk about someone. Place this herb near your door to "trip up" the devil and any evil attempting to come your way.

Featured Herb: Hyssop

Hyssop

Keywords: Uncrossing, Protection, Protecting the home, Purification,

Hyssop is known as a very strong, powerful and potent herb. It's properties consist of protection, cleansing/purification and uncrossing. Hyssop can be used in baths or candle rituals. It can also be hung in the house to prevent negative energies from entering.

Mix a pinch of hyssop in your bath (too much can cause headache), along with sea salt and rue to perform an effective uncrossing and cleansing ritual.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Featured Herb - Rue/Ruda

Keywords: Protection, Jinx Breaking, Hex Removal, Cleansing, Evil Eye Removal

Rue is a favorite of mine. It is highly protective against evil and black works. It is used in various cleansing rituals and baths, some of which are featured in the Lilith's Seventh's store. It's scientific name is Ruta graveolens and is also known as the Herb of Grace. Rue is to not be consumed internally as it can cause gastric discomfort and other complications. Some people are found to be allergic to its oil.

Rue is a very powerful herb to use against the Evil Eye. It will turn the red eye blue and break any hexes or crosses present.

Ritual hint: To break and banish a hex placed on you, I recommend that a bath be taken with Rue. To get the best result with this herb, lightly boil Rue for 9 minutes. strain the water and let cool. You want to take this water along with a empty container to the tub with you. Pour the water over your head, letting some fall into the empty container which you have placed below you. While doing this you are imaging the evil leaving from you, you are imaging you luck turning good and banishing any other blocks that may have come upon you.
Take this caught water and throw it towards the sunrise while saying a meaningful and relevant psalm. Turn your back to the water thrown and go to clean your tub with sea salt.

Peace & Blessings
